Artistry in Wood
Unique wood sculptures crafted with passion.
Vector in mathematics and physics represents a quantity possessing both magnitude and direction. This sculpture physically manifests that concept, acting as a compact, concentrated burst of directional energy. Standing at eleven and a half inches, Vector serves as the essential counterpoint to its larger companion piece, focusing the viewer’s eye on the tight, rhythmic progression of its angled fifteen-degree Rosewood pillars and the intricate, swirling landscapes of its Amboyna burl tops.
By employing a hidden insert the lifts the sculpture just above its stark, brilliant white quartz foundation, the piece achieves a weightless “shadow effect.” This elevates the work from a static object to an active, floating entity. The contrast between the flawlessly smooth, high-sheen and the rugged, unrefined live edges celebrate the dual nature of wood: its capacity for sharp, human-directed precision and its inherent primordial wildness.
